We help accelerate your global business expansion with competitive pricing and reliable supply capabilities.

AT Polymer Co., Ltd. is committed to being your most trusted engineering plastics partner through continuous technological innovation and customer-centric service.

Brand Heritage

The history of BASF engineering plastics is not merely one of corporate expansion—it is a story of technological integration and innovation in the chemical industry. Over decades, BASF has strategically acquired and seamlessly integrated the monumental legacies that defined global engineering plastics standards.

In particular, by successively acquiring the engineering plastics division of Honeywell—a dominant force in the North American market—and the Polyamide division of Solvay (formerly Rhodia)—the standard for European and Asian automotive industries—BASF completed a truly comprehensive Global Technology Hub.

Throughout this monumental integration, BASF upheld its most important principle: the Succession of the Original Recipe.

The high-rigidity technology once demonstrated by Capron® and the outstanding heat and hydrolysis resistance proven by Technyl® have not disappeared. Their know-how now lives on under the single name of BASF Ultramid®, combined with an even more rigorous quality management system for our customers.

AT Polymer Co., Ltd. is the official partner of BASF, standing at the pinnacle of this great heritage.

Timeline

Integrated Technical Leadership with the History of BASF Korea

1998

BASF Korea Established (Foundation)

Consolidation of BASF's domestic entities to officially launch BASF Korea Co., Ltd. Established in-house engineering plastics production and R&D technical support, centered on the Ansan plant.

2003

Portfolio Expansion (Expansion with Honeywell)

BASF acquired Honeywell's engineering plastics division. Capron®'s high-rigidity nylon technology, proven in the North American market, was integrated into the BASF Korea portfolio, strengthening US Spec compliance for the Korean automotive and electronics industries.

2010s

Production & R&D Enhancement (Localization)

Secured stable domestic engineering plastics supply through the establishment of the Yesan plant and expansion of the Ansan plant. Advanced product development (Recipe) capabilities in Korea as a regional technology hub for Asia-Pacific.

2020

The Great Technology Integration

BASF completed the acquisition of Solvay's (formerly Rhodia) Polyamide (PA66) division. The Ulsan Onsan plant (former Solvay production base) became a new production hub for BASF Korea. BASF Korea inherited the original production facilities and technical personnel of Technyl®—the standard for Korean automotive powertrains. Integrated production and supply commenced under the BASF Ultramid® brand, consolidating former Solvay/Rhodia specifications.

Present

One Solution

The combined technological capabilities of Ansan, Yesan (legacy BASF) and Onsan (formerly Solvay) have established Korea's largest engineering plastics production and supply system. AT Polymer Co., Ltd., as the official partner of the unified BASF Korea, provides solutions across the full lineup including Ultramid®, Ultradur®, Ultraform®, and Ultrason®.
